LAND ROVER BRINGS DISCO 4 OVERLANDER TO SA

Land Rover SA has introduced a Discovery 4 with coil suspension designed specifically for adventurers and intended to broaden the appeal of this stylish 4×4.

Carrying the XS designation, Land Rover has stripped away much of the Discovery’s traditionally luxurious specification, such as a sunroof. Features include 18-inch alloy wheels, climate control, cruise control, and a cooled centre cubby. Cloth seats are standard and the 4×4 is only available in a five-seat configuration. Leather seats and tinted rear windows are the only available options.

The Disco 4 XS is fitted with the carmaker’s 155kW 3.0 TDV6 engine and eight-speed automatic transmission with Drive Select, hill descent control and a high/low range gear selector.

Peter Biven, marketing and communications director for Land Rover South Africa and sub-Sahara Africa, says: ‘In response to customer demand we are pleased to introduce the Discovery 4 XS. The XS is essentially an expedition vehicle designed for robust, overland work.

‘We are excited about the introduction of the new Discovery XS. It is a more affordable option in the Discovery line-up and caters to a market with very demanding requirements,’ Biven concludes.

The Discovery 4 XS costs R598 600 and is sold with a five-year or 100 000km maintenance plan.

Mandla85

Welcome to my corner of the automotive world! I'm Mandy Lawson, better known as mandla85, and I'm absolutely obsessed with everything related to cars and motorsports. You bet I'm interested if it has four wheels (or sometimes two!) and an engine. For me, cars aren't just a means of transportation; they're a passion, a lifestyle, and an endless source of fascination. I love diving into the world of automotive engineering and design, exploring the latest trends, and uncovering the stories behind the machines. Email / Facebook
