‘Zulu’ Super Defender revealed

Coventry-based modifier JE MotorWorks has revealed the Zulu, a new limited-run ‘Super Defender’ featuring Jaguar Land Rover’s own 355kW 4.7-litre V8 jammed under the bonnet and a 6-speed tiptronic gearbox.Costing £149 500 (R3.5mil), the Zulu modifications can be done to any type of Defender – from the basic 90 to a huge 130 pick-up. For your money you’re getting that 4.7-litre JLR V8 from an old Land Rover Discovery, potentially bored out, which produces 650Nm of torque, as well as a 6-speed automatic gearbox and upgrades to the chassis, suspension and brakes.Next page>

Extra kit on the Zulu package includes 18-inch alloy wheels, lowered springs, uprated dampers, an upgraded limited-slip differential, bigger brakes and an electronic handbrake. Cosmetically there’s the JE badge on the front, twin rear exhausts, a pair of side vents, bigger front air intakes and LED exterior lights. Inside there’s leather upholstery, extra sound-proofing, air-conditioning and heated seats to put the luxury factor. The Zulu Defender is limited to just 25 units. At the asking price it should be the exclusive reserve of members of the British upper class. Even if it is called Zulu, would you spend R3.5mil to upgrade a Land Rover Defender?

Mandla85

Welcome to my corner of the automotive world! I'm Mandy Lawson, better known as mandla85, and I'm absolutely obsessed with everything related to cars and motorsports. You bet I'm interested if it has four wheels (or sometimes two!) and an engine. For me, cars aren't just a means of transportation; they're a passion, a lifestyle, and an endless source of fascination. I love diving into the world of automotive engineering and design, exploring the latest trends, and uncovering the stories behind the machines. Email / Facebook
