Nissan Titan Warrior concept unleashed

Revealed at the Detroit motor show, Nissan has added some super-sized muscle to the America-only 2016 Nissan Titan XD. Called the Warrior concept, the Japanese truck – and who can argue against calling it a truck – pays tribute to Nissan’s heritage of off-road racing and adventuring, according to Jose Munoz, executive vice president of Nissan Motor Company.

Nissan raised the ride height by three inches and widened it by three inches as well, while mounting 37-inch off-road tyres on custom alloy wheels. Massive grille and headlights, flared front and rear fenders give the truck more menace to go with the quad-tipped exhaust system at the rear. Look in detail and you’ll spot a carbon fibre rear cab spoiler and roof-mounted LED off-road lights.

In case you’re wondering, the Nissan Titan Warrior is powered by a Cummins 5.0-litre V8 turbodiesel sending its power to the ground with a heavy-duty 6-speed Aisin automatic transmission. Want one in SA?
