Audi RSQ3

The RS badge emblazoned on only the tastiest of Audis seems to have made its way to the SUV division in Ingolstadt. Following the lead taken by the likes of Mercedes-Benz and BMW who strap AMG and M badges to their SUVs, Audi is starting off by equipping its smallest SUV, the Q3 with RS power.

265kW to be exact from its 2.5-litre five-cylinder turbo, a launchpad that will rocket the SUV to 100kph in 5.2 seconds and then break through the 250kph barrier on to a top speed of 265kph.

In order to cope with the extra power and handling prowess that accompanies RS badged Audis, the RSQ3 has been lowered 25mm and then widened.

The 7-speed S-tronic gearbox delivers the power to the permanent Quattro system that sits atop 20inch 255/30 rubber.

Inside the buzz word in this RSQ3 is Carbon fibre reinforced polymer (CFRP) that is used to give the RS its cold, hard-edged racer feel. To match its racer boy expectation, Alcantara is used throughout the cabin and on the seat covers.
