Porsche is almost certain to go ahead with production of the stunning 918 Spyder, the car that stole all the attention at the recent Geneva motor show.
‘There is no one inside Porsche who doesn't want to build the 918,’ CEO Michael Macht commented. ‘The response has been marvellous; we will ask buyers to sign letters of intent.’
Visitors at Geneva were shown a version powered by a V8 engine combined with three electric motors, producing a total of 528kW. That’s enough to blow the Carrera GT into the weeds, so it’s just as wellPorsche hasn’t updated its flagship model since 2006.
We can only hope the 918 is be capable of lapping the Nordschleife faster than the Carrera GT, or we may be in for another Nissan GT-R vs Carrera GT saga.
