Lexus has its eye on the premium compact hatch market currently dominated by the likes of BMW’s 1 Series and Audi’s A3. As proof of their intent, they've released this sketch of a concept that Lexus says ‘will demonstrate a mix of technical innovation and ground-breaking design that promises to raise the bar in the premium compact segment.’ That’s fighting talk, but relatively easy to accomplish in concept form. Much harder in production. We’ll get to see the concept in the metal at Frankfurt next month, although there’s no firm date on a showroom-ready version as yet.
