Honda's canned NSX replacement has finally been launched, as a Super GT racer. Officially titled HSV-010 GT, the racecar gives a strong indication of just how awesome the road version would have been. Where the original NSX was clean-surfaced and beautifully balanced, the HSV is a rollercoaster of sweeps and twists, finished off by the brutal addition of a wide-body race kit.

The HSV-010 GT will compete in the GT500 class of the 2010 Super GT Series, powered by a 3 397cc natasp V8. The engine, designated HR10EG, produces upwards of 373kW and 392Nm and the whole car weighs around 1100kg, guaranteeing explosive performance. If you were wondering, we reckon the letters HSV stand for Honda Sports Verocity. Fierce indeed. Makes you wonder what a twin test it would have made against the Lexus LFA. Who'd your money be on?
